Sudirman mentioned two important requirements that Sohibul Iman can fulfill to lead Jakarta. First, Sohibul is considered likely to focus on managing the residents. “Second, he will easily establish cooperation with the future government due to his flexibility in political interactions so far,” said Sudirman.

“His leadership capacity is also proven. If an understanding of field issues is needed, friends and cadres in the PKS faction in the DKI DPRD will be good sources and inputs, given their daily tasks in legislation, budgeting, and oversight in Jakarta Province,” said Sudirman in a written statement, as quoted on Tuesday (25/6/2024).

Additionally, Sudirman said Sohibul Iman also has extensive experience in politics. Sohibul Iman was elected three times as a member of the DPR in 2009-2014, 2014-2019, and 2024-2029 periods. He also served as Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI.

Kaka Suminta emphasized that to prevent any allegations of lobbying by prospective regent and deputy regent pairs regarding administrative verification, the central KPU must step in. “There must be oversight from the central KPU,” said Kaka. He added that to avert any clandestine attempts at committing fraud during administrative verification, the central KPU should enforce strict oversight. “If pairs fail to pass administrative verification, they should not be allowed any opportunities that could undermine democracy,” he asserted.

nThe survey population includes all Indonesian citizens in Central Sulawesi who have the right to vote, namely those aged 17 or older, or those who are married when the survey is conducted . The sample was selected using a multistage random sampling method. In this survey, the sample size is 1,200 people . Assuming a simple random sampling method, a sample size of 1,200 respondents has a margin of error of ± 2.9% at a 95% confidence level . The samples come from all districts/cities in Central Sulawesi, proportionally distributed

nMeanwhile, it is mentioned that in Central Sulawesi, in addition to economic issues which are also a major concern for national leadership such as the prices of basic necessities and employment opportunities, infrastructure conditions are also a primary concern for residents, especially damaged roads, frequent power outages, and the availability of clean water . Candidates perceived by residents as solutions to these issues have a greater chance of being elected

Reflections on Autonomous Participation
The high voter turnover and the enthusiastic involvement of the Indonesian individuals in the 2024 political election are a measure of a healthy and balanced democracy. This engagement is important for the ongoing process of nation-building and autonomous consolidation in Indonesia.

“Technically, I ask KPU friends at the provincial, regency/city levels to always coordinate with local governments, the military, police, prosecutors, and courts, so that in carrying out their work or tasks, the election organizers can work well,” said Hasyim
